As far as the same crew comment
Was the same guy calling it yesterday (from 3B) in the same position on Saturday as well?
You say it's a crew decision but its not is it? Each official has their won section of the field as their primary focus and all three cannot be watching the pitcher.
So in reality, unless it was the same umpire in the same position on back to back days (which seems unlikely with the way folks get rotated), you are going to have a different eye so you are going to have different perspectives.
I had a girl Saturday at a college lacrosse game get upset that I didn't call something on her approach into the CSA. However, I was not the lead official in that direction and the lead official's responsibility is to watch "on the ball" fouls. As one of the two trail officials, I am responsible for off the ball rules infractions. So when this player came at me on blast, I explained to her that this wasn't my focus, call or in my field of view before booking her with a yellow for dissent.
